The Kendall Hunt Common Core Math app has been created to support educators and administrators with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in their classrooms and districts.
The app identifies curriculum content that specifically addresses the CCSS for the following middle grades and high school mathematics programs:
Math Innovations
Discovering Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Algebra)
However, the app will prove useful to all educators and can be customized to work with all K-12 math programs.
The Kendall Hunt Common Core Math app provides ‘Look-fors’ at all grade levels that direct educators to specific Content Standards as they are addressed throughout the curriculum. They may be used as a non-evaluative assessment resource and a peer-observation tool. The app provides suggested student responses for each of the Mathematical Practices as observational look-fors. These should be helpful in providing suggestions related to both planning and assessment for teachers, content leaders, and school-based administrators.
The app also provides an interface for entering observation data as well as access to the K-12 Content Standards for Mathematics. The collected observation data can be shared via email or with its unique built-in instant meeting feature. Highly interactive graphs allow observers to merge different observations to compare and contrast different teachers or the same teacher over time. Using the Timeline feature, observers can track the observed Look-fors through time.
